Aligadda Beach of Karwar

Uttar Kannada District( Karwar) has a coastline of about 144 km. and covers approximate an area of 10,327 and is largely influenced by several rivers flowing in to the Arabian Sea of West Coast of India.
Traditionally the Karwar coast is popularly known as “Mackerel coast”, of which a few beaches remain accessible to the general public, most of them being taken over by the Indian Navy. One of such beaches is the Aligadda beach, next to the National Highway, as one enters Karwar from the South, next to the Port.
