Karwar Beach Rock Garden - some images -1

A rock garden, created on Ravindranath Tagore beach in Karwar city at a cost of Rs.2.60 crore, was inaugurated recently. 

It showcases the rural life of Karwar and Uttar Kannada (North Kanara) District.

This Wireless UHF Tower of the Port department was converted into a view tower, from which tourist can view the islands and ship movements.

This way to Heaven....

 

Mid-May to June Fisrt Week is the time,

when the Clouds travel over the oceans and the seas, and 

come to meet at the foot of the Western Ghats, 

Just above the Western Coastal Line of our region.... 

At first the Whitest Clouds drop the anchor on the Western Ghats, 

waiting for the fellow Clouds.... 

And then the rest of the Gang turns up raising the Heat and the Dust, 

turning themselves into the Darkest Grey, and they 

begin the Wettest and the Wildest Party (Gathering) that 

will last for around Three months or so.... 

Simultaneously the Party moves up the Ghats and the Plains, 

where the Wet and Wild Revelry continues... 

Leaving behind Greenery and Water everywhere, 

in the Aftermath of the Party - called the Monsoons....

( and this is not a Poem... :-) )

A Pig crossed my Path - February Theme - Paths and Passages

This is the Second Picture Post for the February Theme - Paths and Passages, and its a Pig Crossing my path. This pic was taken last week at Mashem, just after Karwar. And Yes, it was not unlucky for me. But it would have been unlucky for the Pig, as it was crossing the busy National Highway no.17 - Karwar-Goa Highway. The pig was fortunate, cos nothing of that sort happened. :-)
