Karwar is the Head-Quarter of North Kanara district in Karnataka state, India, on the shores of the Arabian Sea. Surrounded by Western Ghat (mountains) on the East and South, the River Kali to the North, and the Arabian Sea, which comprises a chain of Islands.

Traditional Fishing in progress....
Traditional fishing scene at Amdalli/Mudga beach...
Mechanised Fishing is banned now for 2 months, cos its the Fish breeding season.... so the fishermen have to manage with small scale fishing activity... they dont get anything much, just bare enuf to pull along... and the small meagre fish and crabs that they get cost a lot when it comes to the market...
