Aah ! Chevy Impala.....

A Chevy Impala in the yard of a Junk dealer.... at Goa.
The Chevrolet Impala is a full-size automobile built by the Chevrolet division of General Motorsintroduced for the 1958 model year. Deriving its name from the southern African antelope, Chevrolet's most expensive passenger model through 1965 had become the best selling automobile in the United States, competing against the Ford Galaxie 500 and the Plymouth Fury when full-size models dominated the market. The Impala was distinguished for many years by its symmetrical triple taillights. Source - Wikipedia

Sunset at Galgibag Beach

Just Beyond The Sunset

Just beyond the sunset
Someone waits for me
Just beyond the sunset
Lies my destiny
Where the purple mountains
Lie in deep tranquillity
There I’ll find the treasure
Of love eternally

Just beyond the sunset
Waits someone so fair
Just beyond the sunset
All alone they wait there
Their hair is golden
The colour of the sand
Their eyes sparkle in the night
Like diamonds in your hand

Just beyond the sunset
Lies a home for me
Where the world is peaceful
Like a paradise should be
Just beyond the sunset
Someday is where you’ll find me

Mangrove Mud Crab

A small Mud Crab.....
Mangrove crabs are crabs that live among mangroves, and may belong to many different species and even families. They have been shown to be ecologically significant in many ways. They keep much of the energy within the forest by burying and consuming leaf litter. Furthermore, their feces may form the basis of a coprophagous food chain contributing to mangrove secondary production....

Doodhsaagar Waterfalls, Goa

The following are the pictures of our recent Trip to Doodhsaagar waterfalls...

From Doodh-Ssagar 2010

Doodh Sagar Waterfall is one of the highest water falls in India, and among the hundred highest waterfalls in the world. It lies in the southern part of Goa at Mollem, towards the border with Karnataka state.

From Doodh-Ssagar 2010

Doodh Sagar, literally means a Sea of Milk in the local Konkani language, and gets its name as it appears like an overflowing sea of milk. It has a total height of 306 meters and a width of 30 meters.

From Doodh-Ssagar 2010

HISTORY: Legend has it that a beautiful princess lived in the forest on the edge of the King's palace grounds. She enjoyed bathing in a lake nearby and ritually drank sweetened milk from a Golden Jug upon finishing with her bath. One day while enjoying her jug of milk she found herself being watched by a handsome prince standing amongst the trees. Red with embarrassment at her inadequate bathing attire, the Princess poured the jug of milk in front of her to form an improvised curtain to hide her body, while one of the maids rushed to cover her with a dress. The sweetened milk cascades down the mountain slope to this day as tribute to the virtue and modesty of the Princess.

LOCATION: Doodh Sagar Waterfalls, Goa
The falls lie high up in the Mandovi River's watershed and so are not particularly spectacular during the dry season. During the monsoon season however, the falls are transformed into one of the most powerful falls in India. Dudhsagar Falls is listed as India's 5th tallest waterfall, and is 227th in the world at 310 m. Trek route starts from Castlerock railway station, which used to be the customs checkpoint when the Portugese used to rule Goa. There are 11 tunnels on the way to the waterfall.

Rock Sadhu at Gokarna

Some unknown Artist has left this Amazing Carving in Laterite Rock at Gokarna. The carving is of a Sadhu (Indian Monk) in deep Meditation. Eyes half-closed, mouth slightly open, chin lowered a bit... You can feel his nostril move as he breathes in and out... saying Om.....

The Carving is behind the Sri Rama Temple at Gokarna, visible only from very near..
